Multiple ‘Rice Model Mandi’ will open in the Odisha State. The state government has decided to open ‘Model Mandis’ to provide all the facilities to the farmers in the grain markets in the state and to facilitate transactions for farmers, traders and other stakeholders under one roof.

38 model mandis will be set up in the state at a cost of Rs 300 crore in the next 2 years. The state cabinet has approved this ‘Model Mandi’ proposal. In a cabinet meeting held at Lok Seva Bhavan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the cabinet approved 7 proposals from a total of 6 departments, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja informed the media and issued a press release.

ଆସନ୍ତା ୨ବର୍ଷ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ୩୦୦କୋଟି ଟଙ୍କା ବ୍ୟୟରେ ୩୮ଟି ମଡେଲ ମଣ୍ଡି ସ୍ଥାପନ କରାଯିବ | ରାଜ୍ୟ କ୍ୟାବିନେଟ୍ ଏହି ‘ମଡେଲ୍ ମଣ୍ଡି’ ପ୍ରସ୍ତାବକୁ ମଞ୍ଜୁରୀ ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି | ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ମୋହନ ଚରଣ ମାଝୀଙ୍କ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷତାରେ ଲୋକସେବା ଭବନରେ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠିତ କ୍ୟାବିନେଟ୍ ବୈଠକରେ ମୋଟ ୬ଟି ବିଭାଗର ୭ଟି ପ୍ରସ୍ତାବକୁ କ୍ୟାବିନେଟ୍ ଅନୁମୋଦନ କରିଥିବା ମୁଖ୍ୟ ସଚିବ ମନୋଜ ଆହୁଜା ଗଣମାଧ୍ୟମକୁ ସୂଚନା ଦେବା ସହ ପ୍ରେସ୍ ରିଲିଜ୍ ଜାରି ହୋଇଛି ।

With the help of ‘Model Mandi’, farmers will be provided with facilities starting from a digital platform to sell their produce under one roof and get a fair price, including cold storage, weighing equipment, multipurpose warehouse facilities, rest houses, transportation facilities, parking and high-quality machinery etc.

The necessary survey for setting up mandis in all the districts of the state has been completed. The construction of the mandis will be done through the Odisha State Bridge and Construction Corporation. The construction work will be supervised by the Odisha State Agriculture Marketing Council (OSMA Board) by forming a cell. This scheme will be implemented in the financial years 2025-26 and 2026-27.
